Nails Inc Lucky Dip - Glossy Shades

Hey everyone,

So every once in a while Nails Inc release a Lucky Dip which changes price and amount of polish each time. You know how many polishes you are getting just not what colours. I absolutely love this concept as I love trying new colours and types of polishes and especially colours I would not normally pick myself. This time around Nails Inc launched 3 sets of Lucky Dips - Special Effects, Glossy and Metallics for £18 which had 7 polishes in each set. Of course I had to order all 3 being the addict that I am haha. Each set that you receive is different from anyone elses. This current Lucky Dip range is unavailable but I still wanted to share the shades I got as the individual shades should still be available.

So in this post I will be showing you the Glossy Shades I received.

L-R:
Cambridge Gate
Wellington Street
St Pancras
Mayfair Mews
Madison Avenue
Cadogan Place
Hampstead Gardens

Cambridge Gate.
This one arrived with nail polish all around the opening - don't know what happened it :(

Wellington Street.

St Pancras.

Mayfair Mews.
This one is all gloopy and seperated :( even in the picture you can see that it doesn't apply properly!

Madison Avenue.

Cadogan Place.

Hampstead Gardens.

This was the set I was least amazed by and two of the polishes just weren't up to the standard I am used to from Nails Inc, just going to assume that I got two duds!

I apologise that not all the swatches are very tidy (swatching 36 colours in a row can do that haha).

I love Nails Inc polishes. They offer amazing quality, colour choice and unique textures! However at £11 a bottle it can be an expensive habit which is why I love when they do Lucky Dips. Even if you only love two of the colours you receive then you have still saved money versus the RRP. I have found some of my all time favourite polishes through these offers! Would highly recommend them to any fellow nail polish addicts out there!

Check them out at www.nailsinc.com and on twitter @nailsinc for updates and offers.

Stafford Terrace
Primose Hill

Lanesborough Place.
This is a lovely subtle gold shimmer.

Providence Crescent.
This is a very unusual reddish brown shimmer that would be lovely during the Autumn.

Berkeley Mews.
This is a gorgeous deep purple / navy. It looks amazing when the like hits it and really picks up the purple undertones.

Cadogan Lane.
This is a deep green shimmer with an almost teal sheen running through it.

Montrose Place.
I love this colour, it is a proper hot pink and really makes me think of a true "Barbie pink".

Stafford Terrace.
This is another very unusual shade. Its a unique bronze / brown shade. Another great autumnal colour.

Primrose Hill.
This is my favourite colour out of this Lucky Dip! It is an amazing silvery grey with lilac undertones, will get great use out of this one!

I apologise that not all the swatches are very tidy (swatching 36 colours in a row can do that haha).

Nails Inc Lucky Dip - Special Effects Shades

Hey everyone,

So every once in a while Nails Inc release a Lucky Dip which changes price and amount of polish each time. You know how many polishes you are getting just not what colours. This current Lucky Dip range is unavailable but I still wanted to share the shades I got as the individual shades should still be available.

So in this post I will be showing you the Special Effects Shades I received.

L-R:
Neon Crackle Effect Polish - Camden Town
Glitter Crackle Effect - Farringdon Crackle Top Coat
Holographic Polish - Abbey Road
Matte - Gatwick
Magnetic Effect Polish - Kensington Palace
Magnetic Effect Polish - London Town
Special Effects - The Wyndham

Neon Crackle Effect Polish - Camden Town
I placed this over a dark grey base however the crackle didn't show up as well as it did over a different colour I didn't photograph so it can be hit and miss depending on the base polish. Will be a great colour for the summer though.

Glitter Crackle Effect - Farrington Crackle Top Coat
Again I placed this over the same grey polish as before. This crackle came out much clearer and is a gorgeous gold shimmer that could be a subtle or dramatic depending on the base colour used.

Holographic Polish - Abbey Road
I love holographic polishes so was delighted to see this in my parcel. I haven't tested the wear on this year but hopefully it doesn't "fade" like the Gosh version as that was it's one major downfall.

Matte - Gatwick.
I really enjoy matte polishes as it makes it more about the colour than the finish of the polish. Gatwick is a really unique red shade with orange / pink undertones.

Magnetic Effect Polish - Kensington Palace.
I find magnetic polishes to be very hit and miss based on their end design, however the Nails Inc ones I received are amazing - easy to use and a clear, visible design.

Magnetic Effect Polish - London Town.
Again this colour was equally as successful as the other shade, will get great use out of these when I fancy easy nail art.

Special Effects - The Wyndham.
I love top coats like this one. They are most effective over a black base as it offers a great contrast between the colours. It gives off a green / gold shimmer when the light hits it.

I love Nails Inc polishes. They offer amazing quality, colour choice and unique textures! However at £11 a bottle it can be an expensive habit which is why I love when they do Lucky Dips. Xtras Nail Polish Haul

Hey everyone,

I recently placed another order on www.xtras-online.co.uk for some nail polishes. I love this website, they are always adding new items and I have collected quite a few Essie polishes reduced from their site. They also offer free UK delivery on all orders over £10 (which comes in handy when you have a UK shipping address ;) ).

This time I picked up 4 Essie colours I didn't have yet and also the full range of W7 Suede Effect polishes.

First up is the 4 Essie colours I got:
L-R:
Off The Shoulder
Cascade Cool
Mojito Madness
Ole Caliente

Off The Shoulder

Cascade Cool

Mojito Madness

Ole Caliente

Love these shades, great bright colours for the summer and like most Essie polishes you can get away with just one coat of each!

Next up - W7 Suede Effect nail polishes. W7 is a really cheap cosmetics company that are available in chemists around the country and online. They have some great bargains and they have a huge range of nail polishes. Some of the brushes in the polishes can be dodgy but luckily all these ones were perfect!

L-R:
143 Silver Suede
139 Night Suede
141 Golden Suede
138 Aqua Suede
142 Mauve Suede
140 Pink Suede

143 Silver Suede

139 Night Suede

141 Golden Suede

138 Aqua Suede

142 Mauve Suede

140 Pink Suede

I love these polishes they dry to a matte shimmer finish and have great true colour pay off! I would definitely recommend checking them out and they are only £2.99 each!

Random Act of Kindness RAK

Hey everyone!

So today I wanted to show you the goodies I got as part of a RAK I took part in recently. The lovely Deirdre from http://confessionsofamakeupaholic2011.blogspot.ie/ organised this swap.

I received a parcel from Sarah from fridayisforeverblog.com . I love taking part in RAK's and swaps! I get really excited receiving parcels and seeing what goodies I can try out. There were even numbers of bloggers from Ireland and the UK so we got paired up with the opposite country to ours which I thought was a great idea as it means we could pick things that our partner may not be able to purchase easily.

Here is an over view of the goodies I received from Sarah.

First up is a super cute J initial ring. I love this and it fits my index finger perfectly! Its subtle but still personal so I will get great use out of this!

Next up is a 17 Fast Finish nail polish in "Peacock". This is a gorgeous teal / green colour with a subtle shimmer through out it. This is a really pretty colour and I don't own many polishes from 17 so can't wait to try this out.

Lush Toothy Tabs in "Aquatic". I have tried the "Dirty" flavour of these before and really enjoyed them. They are great for travel and leave your teeth feeling incredible clean so I cant wait to see what this flavour is like.

Batiste dry shampoo in "Paisley". Any one who knows me knows I am OBSESSED with Batiste! It is an absolute life saver for me as I have long really thick oily hair that is impossible to wash everyday so Batiste is great to give me a second day between washes. Unfortunately where I live it is hard to locate the new scents when they are released so I was delighted to see Paisley in this package and it would have been months before I could have tracked a bottle down! (Think I have a problem lol)

Lastly are these amazing nail wraps from Nail Rock in the style "Tattoos". These are really quirky and fun and will be perfect when festival season finally rolls around this summer. Look out for a review in a few months!

Overall I am delighted with everything I received from Sarah and will get great use out of them!

Thank you so much Sarah!!!

Make sure you check out Sarah's and Deirdre's blogs!

Collective Haul

Hey everyone so I have been a bit naughty and done some shopping lately so I thought I would share what I have picked up.

First up I went to my local TK Maxx. I love checking out the cosmetics and nail polishes here as you can normally find a great deal. When I spotted Butter London polishes I had to pick a set up. I have always wanted to try there polishes but couldn't justify the price so when I saw this set had a polish and lipgloss for €12.99 I had to get one. This set is "Shambolic".

Next up I went to Salon Services and got very excited when I spotted loads of OPI polishes on sale.

The first set I got was "The Top Ten" collection for €8.08 ex VAT

Next up "Dear OPI, I Love You" which came with 2 polishes and a free pen this was around €5.50 ex VAT

Finally got my hands on Nail Envy (free bangle was a bonus) €5.40 ex VAT

I couldn't resist "The Man With The Golden Gun". What nail polish addict doesn't want a top coat with real gold in it??! Or is that me just trying to justify it lol. €8.75 ex VAT

Lastly from here I picked up the Skyfall mini collection €3.85 ex VAT

While in Galway I popped in to Evergreen (health store) and spotted the Burt's Bees cuticle cream with basically the lip balm free as it was only €7.95 for the set so had to snap it up

I was in an independent chemist and spotted a new Essence collection (Vintage District) which I had to check out!

First up I picked up their 2 nail art decoration kit these are €3.09 each. Can't wait to create some looks with these!

I couldn't pass up the amazing blush from this collection! "01 It's Popul-art" is a gorgeous peachy / nude blush with a gold overspray. This was €4.09.

Of course I had to pick up the polishes from the collection these were €2.29
01 Vintage Peach
02 Shopping @ Portobello Road
03 Antique Pink
04 Get Arty

Essence and Catrice are my biggest addictions, they are always bringing out new affordable collections and I just have to have the polishes at least from every collection ( I think I need help :/ haha)

Next up I hit Boots and picked up some new bits while there were some offers on.

Maybelline had a buy one get one half price offer on so I picked up 4 things.

Finally got my hands on the Fit Me range:
Foundation in 120 Classic Ivory €11.99
Concealer in 15 €8.99
Powder in 120 Classic Ivory €8.99

Color Tattoo 24HR in 65 Pink Gold €7.49

Maybelline's latest mascara "Rocket Volume" was part of the same offer as it was reduced from €11.99 to €8.99 as a launch price.

Miss Sporty So Matte Perfect Stay Foundation was on offer from €4.25 to €2.75 so thought I would try it out as I am always looking for something that lasts well.

The last stand I visited was Rimmel. There were having a 3 for 2 so picked up some bits.

I finally decided to try Stay Matte powder after hearing everyone rave about it. I got the colour 005 Silky Beige and this was €5.99

I had to bit up one of their new Apocalips Lip Laquers to see if they are worth the hype. This one is 600 Nude Eclipse.

Finally I picked up Scandeleyes eye liner in 004 Taupe. I already have the nude one and love it so wanted to try some other colours. This is €5.49

So that is the things I have purchase recently. Can't wait to try them all out! If you would like a review just let me know and I will do one ASAP!
